Hand Dyed Yarn: Peacock Available in Silk, Baby Yak blend (Wool Free)

$23.62 $31.50

Please read the full description below.

Peacock is a beautiful combination of blues, teal, green and purple. This colorway looks best on silk bases as the shine of the silk really makes the colors vivid.

Variations in color, including lighter areas, should be expected. Each skein is hand painted and no two are exactly the same!

Due to the extensive dyeing process required to achieve this vibrant color, the price has been adjusted.

Please keep in mind that different fibers react to the dye in different ways so the color you recieve will not be an exact replica of what is shown. Each skein should be expected to have variations, even if they are dyed together at the same time. These variations are what make hand dyed yarn so special.

I do my best to represent the true colors of the yarn but monitors vary in their display and the actual product you recieve may look different than the photo. If you have a very specific shade or intensity of color, please indicate this when ordering.

In general, pure Silk tends to end up more vibrant and saturated, and any speckles stay fairly defined.

Alpaca and Alpaca blends may be more muted and have more of a blended, tonal quality. The fluffier the yarn, the more muted and less defined the colors will be.

A deeper color is still possible with these fibers but please make sure to indicate if this is your preference when ordering.

I try to keep a good supply of bases on hand but if you are ordering a large quantity please be advised that additional time may be required to complete your order if I need to procure more bare yarn first.
An additional special order fee may apply if the base you are wanting is not in stock.

All of my yarn is dyed to order, so you are receiving a one of a kind piece of art! Because of this, all sales are final and cancellations, returns or refunds are not possible.

Please note: the photos are examples of skeins that have been dyed but yours will very possibly look different from the ones pictured. Hand painting means that each skein is one of a kind.

Your Hand Dyed Yarn may occasionally have residual dye leaving trace amounts of color on your hands when working with it. (Much like dark denim can transfer its color to other clothing when its new) This often occurs with ultra-saturated colors and with 100% Mulberry Silk yarn. This is harmless and will wash off with soap and water. Please use caution if using along with lighter colors or on light colored clothing.

Frequently Asked Questions

A note about Hand Painted Yarn:

The beauty of hand painted yarn is that each Skein is a one of a kind work of art. Because of this, you should expect that there will be slight variations in each Skein, even if dyed all together.

Please make sure if you are ordering that you purchase a sufficient amount for your project, as it will be nearly impossible to match it completely at a later time.

It is also recommended to alternate skeins when working to avoid abrupt color changes in your pattern.

Custom and personalized orders

I welcome custom orders and will work hard to get it just right. Due to the nature of custom orders, returns or cancellations are not accepted. So please be sure of what you want before placing your order.

How does the choice of Fiber affect the color saturation?

Different fibers react to the dye in different ways so the color you recieve will not be an exact replica of what is shown. Since each skein is dyed by hand, slight variations are to be expected.

In general, Pure Silk tends to end up more vibrant and saturated, while Alpaca and Alpaca blends may be more muted.

A deeper color is still possible with these fibers but please make sure to indicate if this is your preference when ordering.

Why buy handmade?

Handmade items are special. They aren't made with machines, every stitch is done by hand. Each piece that I produce contains a small part of me, of my life, and is made with love.
When you give a handmade gift, you aren't just giving an item, you're showing the recipient how much you care. And receiving a handmade item fills your heart with the love and is something that will be treasured for many years.
My goal is to create special, one of a kind items that can be enjoyed by all. Instead of buying mass-produced, boring and cheap, shop handmade and find a gift that's unique!
